I just read the Annual Plan Clarifications, from Dave Goottee, I would advise everyone to pass this on to consumers and families receiving services on Medicaid Waivers.
I truly believe that each memo, update, or whatbeit that is sent from the State level raises more concerns for the health and safety of those being served. Nobody should lower staffing levels due to budget cuts. (How can can a family who is receiving services from a provider, who will only provide 1 on 1 services be more flexible and accommodating?) The provider company cannot share staff, if they promote consumer-based, community integrated services, at a 1:1 ratio.
The second page, second paragraph of the Annual Plan clarifications states that the changes will allow for increased flexibilityand will allow families to be more involved in a loved ones life with no fiscal impact on the provider.??? This is quite possibly the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen. Again, if a family or client requests their own days and hours of service and has 1 to 1 services, the above mentioned comment cannot be correct.
Staff reductions, cameras viewing indiviuals instead of staff on site, less or no daily documentation required by providers. Where is the accountability, and how many individuals are going to be harmed, before this is changed? |
