This message is to thank all the families, providers, consumers and interested parties who attended yesterday's Rally at the State House. It was a superb turnout with media coverage by Fox 59 and WRTV. We hand-delivered the petition with over 160+ signatures directly to the Govenor's Office. It was so overwhelming to see so many people interested enough to voice their concerns directly in front of the Governor's Office and FSSA especially in the blazing sun. I was able to meet so many new people concerned about the waiver program and discuss openly and honestly the problems facing the program. Everyone attending boosted my resolve to continue this fight for what is "right!" Special thanks to the two residential providers that attended....nice to see providers doing what is right rather than just sticking their heads in the sand. Thanks Bi-Cty & RSI.....you should be very proud. Thanks to everyone participating.......doing the right thing takes courage and that was proven yesterday!

As luck would have it, I didn't get word till this day, a day
late this was going on. And of course even if I had planned
to go things changed at 7:15 my time yesterday morning
when my son's ride to summer school got sick and didn't
come to get him. So I had to transport and then go back
at noon to pick him up. I hate the way things work out
sometimes. Our school system has always had a special
needs summer school bus till this year. ANd its been great,
I've never had a complaint that they didn't take care of the
whole 8 + 2 years my son has ridden buses for preschool and
regular school. But this summer they didn't have but him,
and they chose a alternative and have him on a regular bus
with a aide, who when he is sick there is no alternative to
taking him to school for me. So I did again yesterday.

I hope this is the last year I have to worry about this kind of
mess. I would have loved to have come to the rally yesterday.
